Thank you to our incredible sponsors!

Our inaugural Spring Breakfast was a huge success, and we are so grateful to all of our sponsors and volunteers! We raised more than $14,000 through sponsorships and donations!

Abode was a wonderful venue, and we’re sad to see them close - stay tuned for our date and location for 2020 - you won’t want to miss it!

Catered by…

This year’s breakfast was catered by the Culinary Arts students of the Maize Career Academy. Home-made cinnamon and brown sugar pop-tarts and lemon scones topped off an array of traditional breakfast foods. These students have also been competing and winning some great ProStart competitions placing first in two divisions at the state level! They will go on to compete in the national competition in Washington, DC in May. Good luck and thanks for preparing such a delicious breakfast!

Maize Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chad Higgins, shared some of the many recent successes of our students and educators throughout the last year. Our district has seen a number of state champions and have a number of students competing at the national level. We also have a number of educators receiving high honors and recognition at the state and national level!

Dr. Higgins also discussed some of challenges we are facing - such as rapid enrollment growth and the facilities planning underway to meet the needs of that growth.

The students of Complete High School Maize’s General Store set up a pop-up shop for our guests to see an example of the Foundation’s funding in action. Led by teacher, Michelle Hilliard (2019 Kansas Master Teacher), the students are gaining amazing experiences and building strong relationships with the residents of Reflection Ridge Retirement Community while earning high school credit.

We were incredibly honored to have Kansas Commissioner of Education, Dr. Randy Watson, join us and deliver a wonderful and inspiring message. Dr. Watson shares our vision of education crafted in partnership with the citizens and businesses of our school community, and his message motivated many in the audience to begin finding ways they and their companies can start getting involved with the Maize School District to provide much-needed opportunities for students to gain direct access and knowledge of all the job and career opportunities available to them.

Our 2019 Spring Breakfast may have ended, but we need help planning for 2020! If you are interested in serving on our 2020 Spring Breakfast Committee, please let us know!! Contact Travis Bloom for more information
