Supporting innovative educational programs and projects.
The Maize Education Foundation is committed to providing supplemental funding for instructional projects and activities that might not otherwise be funded by the district due to limited financial resources.
As part of this commitment, each year, the Foundation invites district staff to submit applications for grants in three different categories. Staff are encouraged to be innovative and aim high with their proposals. Grants are reviewed by the Programs and Allocations Committee each Spring and recipients are announced at the annual Spring all-staff convocation.
In 2018, the Foundation awarded $29,000 in Foundation Grants. See below for the list of this year's grant recipients.
Technology Grants are awarded for hardware and software to help students remain competitive in an ever-evolving world of technology.
Instructional Grants provide supplies, equipment and training to enhance student engagement and develop new curricula and keep up with new ways of learning.
Enrichment Grants allow students to participate in learning activities that extend beyond the classroom encouraging an understanding of community service and civic responsibility.
