Student Application Workshop
The Maize Education Foundation will host a free workshop to coach Maize students who are filling out grant and scholarship applications this Spring.
The free workshop will be in the Maize Middle School Commons area on February 21 from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. It is our hope that we can help answer questions and provide guidance in ways that support our students and help them refine their submissions and make them more competitive.
Those students who would like to participate should read the following information and then fill out the registration form that follows.
Q: Who can attend?
A: Any Maize student who is planning to submit an application this Spring.
Q: What kind of application?
A: Any application for student grants and student scholarships.
Q: Is the workshop only for Foundation grants and scholarships?
A: No. Foundation and non-Foundation applicants are welcome to attend the workshop.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Students should bring the application(s) for which they would like assistance. The application should be fully or mostly completed prior to the workshop, and students should arrive with specific questions regarding their applications. Students should bring at least one printed copy of their application(s) plus paper and pencil (or pen) and plan to take notes as coaches suggest changes to the answers in their applications.
Q: Can parents attend and participate?
A: Keeping in mind that the intent is to assist students with their application processes, we welcome parent attendance and participation as we believe parent involvement is often key in teaching our students.
