Student Application Workshop
The Maize Education Foundation will host a free workshop to coach Maize students who are filling out grant applications this fall.
The free workshop will be in the Maize South Middle School Commons area on October 9 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. It is our hope that we can help answer questions and provide guidance in ways that support our students and help them refine their submissions and make them more competitive.
Space will be limited, so students must register in order to participate in the workshop. We will do our best to accommodate students who have not registered, but there is no guarantee that space will be available.
Those students who would like to participate should read the following information and then fill out the registration form that follows.
Q: Who can attend?
A: Any Maize student who is planning to submit an application this fall.
Q: What kind of application?
A: Applications for Student Enrichment Grants as well as any other kind of application.
Q: Is the workshop only for Foundation grants?
A: No. Foundation and non-Foundation applicants are welcome to attend the workshop.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Students should bring the application(s) for which they would like assistance. The application should be fully or mostly completed prior to the workshop, and students should arrive with specific questions regarding their application. Students should also bring their computer in order to work on their application in real-time. As an alternative, students may bring paper and pen/pencil in order to take notes from which to work at home at a later time.
Q: Can parents attend and participate?
A: Keeping in mind that the intent is to assist students with their application processes, we welcome parent attendance and participation as we believe parent involvement is often key in teaching our students.
